My study was investigation of fabrication of the a"-Fe₁₆N₂. But, it used to be terribly difficalt to create.

The background of this page is the dark field image of the cross section TEM of the a"-Fe₁₆N₂ thin film. The white part of the image is a"-Fe₁₆N₂. I have made this a"-Fe₁₆N₂ film stably by using the facing target type sputtering sysytem for the first time all over the world.

The saturation of the magnetization of the a"-Fe₁₆N₂ phase is about 10 % larger than that of the a-Fe. However, the a"-phase is metastable phase, this film contains N-disorderd a'-phase and the crystal grain size is at most 100Å.
